Children's Area

A special feature of the 2009 NCLF is the Children's Area, which is dedicated to children 12 years of age and younger.

Children's Stage

The Children's Stage is a venue where authors who write and create works geared towards youth will interact with and speak to the festival audience. Approximately 15 speakers will participate over the two weekend days (authors, illustrators, pop-up book creators, etc.) Partnering with various local, national and international organizations, the books represented will cover a wide range of topics and diversity, and several keynote speakers will perform at this stage.

Autographs

After each presentation the speakers will be available in a separate Autograph Signing area within the Children's Area to sign autographs.

Activity Areas

Activity Areas will be located within the Children's Area, where children will be given the opportunity to make bookmarks, book bags, or something similar in nature. Other educational activities will also be available. This area will feature a venue where children can have their picture taken with character mascots.

* A detailed schedule of events and activities will be posted at a later date.
