Mike Craver
Mike Craver is a North Carolinian. He was a member of the Red Clay Ramblers for 12 years, and after that became involved in music theatre. New York Off Broadway credits include Diamond Studs (Westside Arts); and Sam Shepard’s A Lie of the Mind (Promenade); Oil City Symphony (Circle in the Square Downtown) co-author and original cast member with Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk and Mary Murfitt and Radio Gals (John Houseman) Craver co-authored with Mark Hardwick. Oil City Symphony received a Drama Desk and an Outer Critics Circle Award and Radio Gals received the LA Ovation Award. Craver also co-arranged and musically directed the original off-Broadway production of Smoke on the Mountain at the Lambs Theatre, and arranged and contributed music for Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming. He most recently collaborated with author Clyde Edgerton in making a musical out of his novel Lunch at the Piccadilly, and a musicalized reading and CD out of his novel The Bible Salesman. Craver has three solo records: Fishing For Amour (l984), Wagoner’s Lad (l999) and Shining Down (2002).
