Brian Ray
Brian Ray grew up as a perfectly normal oddball on the fringes of Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his B.A. and M.F.A. from the University of South Carolina, where nobody was quite sure what to do with him. After earning his degree in creative writing in 2007, he taught literature and writing at the University of South Carolina before moving to Greensboro, North Carolina, for yet another graduate degree. While he fed on Michael Crichton (RIP) novels and some classics as a kid, he soon graduated to the likes of Don DeLillo, Margaret Atwood and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Before he decided to go full-throttle with writing, he toyed with the idea of being a musician, a rock climber, an economist and a reporter. He wrote about four novels until one clicked, Through the Pale Door and it won the SC First Novel Contest. Brian is currently writing a second novel.
